Extensive Cerebral White Matter Dissection. This dissection demonstrates the hippocampus, arcuate fasciculus, and superior longitudinal fasciculus. The fornix can be seen splitting into its pre- and post-commissural divisions. The pre-commissural fornix descends anterior to the anterior commissure and terminates mainly in the septal nucleus, whereas the post-commissural fornix descends posterior to the anterior commissure and terminates largely in the mammillary body, (Image courtesy of M Nunez)
