Deep dissection of the suboccipital region of the neck. The suboccipital triangle is formed by the borders of three short muscles: the rectus capitis posterior major, the obliquus capitis inferior, and the obliquus capitis superior. Within the triangle course the suboccipital venous plexus, the vertebral artery, and the suboccipital nerve. (Image courtesy of AL Rhoton, Jr.)
