Intradural Pituitary Transposition to Suprasellar Space

Intradural pituitary transposition. The pituitary gland has been fully mobilized superiorly into the suprasellar space. Care should be taken to avoid torsion of the pituitary stalk. The sellar floor and dura of the ventral dorsum sella have been removed to expose the dorsum sella and posterior clinoids. The cavernous sinus has now been opened to access the posterior clinoids. An osteotomy has been completed to separate each posterior clinoid from the dorsum sella; this allows for safer removal of the posterior clinoids and dorsum sella.
