Endoscopic View of Sphenid Sinus with Bony Removal

5731
The bone covering the dura of the sella, tubercullum sella, prechiasmatic sulcus, and optic canal has been removed in the left side. The superior intercavernous sinus is identified under the tuberculum sella. The paraclinoidal and paraclival segments of the ICA, and the anterior wall of the cavernous sinus have also been exposed on the left side. The removal of the bone of the MOCR is critical when performing approaches to the suprasellar region, because it allows direct visualization of the distal dural ring and preforaminal segment of the optic nerve.
