The roof of the ethmoids has been removed bilaterally to expose the dura of the anterior skull base. The lamina papyracea has also been removed bilaterally. The crista galli sits in the midline and the olfactory sulci are located on each side of the crista. The posterior table of the frontal sinus forms the anterior limit of the approach.
